Hoping to make the jump to either an s3 or an s4 (b8.5) within the next month or two. Updated on february 24, 2018. I need help on deciding my first car, my options are the 2016 audi s3 8v and the 2013/14audi s4 b8.5. The two deciding factors, for me, in getting a used s4 over the new s3 was the awd system and the interior space. I also strongly considered a 2015+ golf r, so the s3 is actually what i am leaning more towards due to having the r power and the luxury of an audi. My decision was confirmed when i went to pick up. Audi s and rs main difference between this lines is that the 's models' focuses more on sports cars, while the rs models focuses on 'racing sport' cars. These cars primarily focus on enhanced sport performance. However, i can't see the difference between the audi a4 and the audi s4 (of course, as well as a6/s6, a8/s8, etc). For me, i preferred the s4 interior, awd system and sport differential and just liked the way the 4 looked vs the 3.
